Criteria for Participation/Eligibility Requirements
The minimum requirements to register for this course includes:
Current AWHONN full membership.
NCC Certification in Antepartum, InPatient OB or EFM (one year to obtain)
Successful completion of the current Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Course within 3 years previous to the Intermediate Instructor Course.
Minimum of 2 years recent direct clinical experience in fetal monitoring
Current direct clinical involvement in fetal monitoring as a staff nurse, physician, manager, clinical nurse specialist, or educator. Current responsibility for the evaluation of fetal monitoring clinical skills of others.
Evidence of ongoing professional development in intrapartum, antepartum, high risk care and fetal monitoring.

Preparing for Your Course
This course has pre-course work that MUST be completed 2 days before your scheduled in-person class. The instructions are in the front of your required AWHONN student materials (small blue book). You will not be permitted to take the class without this work completed.
You will need the Intermediate Instructor Teaching Materials before you can teach your first IFM course.

The textbook Fetal Heart Monitoring Principles & Practices 6th edition is the primary reference for course preparation. The book is $64.95 digital and $76.95. The book includes information about:

Registration for all courses is non-refundable but can be transferred to the next available course only. Cancellations must be done via email 72 hours before the course date listed above, otherwise all fees are forfeited.
